ARM Version 4, Release 7.0

Information Balance today announced a future release to its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). ib-ARM Release 4.7.0 offers new functional enhancements, plus new and enhanced parsers.

ARM Version 4, Release 6.0
October 30, 2015

Information Balance today announced a new release to its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). ib-ARM Release 4.6.0 offers new and enhanced parsers, plus several functional enhancements.

• Functional Enhancements

  • New Dashboard views:
    • Portfolio and Application – Complexity history
    • Portfolio and Application – Function Points history
    • Inventory – Blank lines report
  • New component views:
    • Database View Mapping – maps database views to the views, tables and columns that are used by the view. Especially useful when there are multiple levels, for example: View uses View uses Table.
    • PMD Quality Check for Java applications
  • Enhanced component views:
    • Data Access view now allows filtering by CRUD values
    • Properties page rewrite to display and organize all properties available for a component
    • IB Diagrams – controls have been moved so they always remain on the page even when scrolling down in a diagram.
    • Source and Expanded Source views – created a new icon to remove / display line numbers. This icon always remains on the page even when scrolling down in source code.

• New Parsers

  • C# – complete rewrite
  • .NET parser – parsing .NET solution files, assemblies, namespaces, WCF and web services

Version 4 will continue to receive further improvements via additional releases. Version 5 will bring a completely revamped user interface.

ARM Version 4, Release 5.4

Information Balance today announced a new release to its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). ib-ARM Release 4.5.4 offers new parsers, improved usability features and support for the OpenVMS platform.

Release V4.5.4 incorporates several enhancements to the product:

  • Multi-Repository option allows for multiple repositories to contain multiple versions of an application
  • OpenVMS support includes a new parser for DCL (Digital Command Language)
  • New parsers:
    • UBL (Universal Basic Language)
    • Tuxedo
    • Centura (formerly Gupta SQLWindows)
  • Parser upgrades:
    • GDF – major upgrades including linking panels to variables and identification of dead code
    • Web Services – upgrades for linkages to Java, Spring and Tuxedo services
  • Usability features:
    • IB Diagrams – add right-click capability to access views of components in diagrams
    • Context-specific Help – help is available on each page via Help icon
    • IB Diagrams – fixed the save as SVG format. The SVG files can now be opened in Visio.

Information Balance today announced yet another milestone in the development of its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). ib-ARM Release 4.5.0 offers a new, proprietary, function-rich diagramming facility, a number of new features that provide direct support for Application Modernization initiatives, and complete support for the AS/400 platform.

The new Diagramming Facility provides state-of-the-art visualization of component relationships, program and data structures and a myriad of specific repository content without having to rely on third-party software. The facility offers all the advanced features that one would expect from contemporary diagramming tools, and is seamlessly bundled with the ARM software.

Release V4.5.0 incorporates several additional enhancements to the product:

  • New Dashboard features to support application modernization initiatives:
  • Application Overview (a top-down, summary view of all applications)
  • Duplicate / Cloned Code; Missing/Unreferenced Components
  • Dead Code Analysis; Database Complexity Analysis
  • Complete AS/400 platform coverage, including all popular programming and control languages, databases and job schedulers

Information Balance today announced a new milestone in the development of its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). ib-ARM Release 4.4.5 offers a significantly enhanced Portfolio Dashboard that serves as the focal point of a much more powerful application discovery process.

The new Portfolio Dashboard facilitates a top-down view of the entire application portfolio. The dynamically generated Portfolio Context diagram depicts every application and all their inter-application relationships in a single view. From the high-level view users can progressively drill-down into more and more detail. This functionality represents the first step in bringing a top-down perspective to ARM, complementing its already powerful bottom-up APM capabilities.

Release V4.4.5 incorporates several additional enhancements to the product:

  • Improved Impact Analysis with work effort estimation
  • New and improved graphical displays of component relationships
  • A more robust Source Search capability
  • Several new/enhanced parsers (C, C++, DataStage, Micro Focus COBOL, Maestro Scheduler, etc.)

ARM Version 4, Release 3

Information Balance today announced a new milestone in the development of its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). With ib-ARM Version 4.3 the company has completed moving off its ASP basis (Versions 1.0-3.4) and now offers its clients a stand-alone, self-administered version of its application portfolio management product.

Release V4.3 incorporates a separate Administrator Workbench which automates the creation and refresh of repository content. It includes all the requisite parsers for the target technology portfolio and the corresponding inter-technology mapping rules. The ARM Repository refresh process is highly automated with several easy-to-use features:

  • Managing multiple ARM repositories within an organization
  • Configuring a new refresh for a given repository
  • Initiating, running and monitoring the refresh process
  • Testing the refresh results
  • Publishing the new repository to production

The Administrator Workbench also provides for a number of housekeeping functions from user administration to logging and tool configuration.

In addition, a new Application Dashboard has been added to the already function rich Analyst Workbench. The dashboard displays a variety of application metrics that will support effective application management. Version 4 will continue to receive further improvements via additional releases.

ARM Version 4

Information Balance announced a major milestone in the development of its leading APM product, ib-Application Road Map (ib-ARM). With ib-ARM Version 4 the company is moving off its ASP base and now offers its clients a stand-alone, self-administered version of its application portfolio management product.

This new version will allow customers to process all their source code and documentation and generate their repository content on site” says Gabor Szirmak, President. “Customers will now be able to refresh their repository content in-house as frequently as required without having to rely on IB’s services”.

The first release under the new version, Release V4.1 incoporates several significant functional and interface improvements. The tool’s search facility received a major upgrade, with significant improvement both in metadata and source code search. Additional new features include extended search displays, variable-level metadata mapping, improved diagram displays, enhanced usage statistics and logging. Many existing parsers have also been upgraded, enabling the search interfaces to target user needs more effectively.
