Technology Artifacts
A technology artifact is any type of object, or application component, that is of interest to the
IT professional. These include:
(1) system artifacts: application source
code (any type and format), database objects (tables, columns, indices,
keys,
etc.), procedures,
JCL, libraries, events, triggers, transactions;
(2) documentation artifacts: models (in CASE tools,
or in other electronic format), business requirements, business rules,
design, specification,
testing, run-book, operations guide and any other type of documentation
in popular formats (DCF, Word, Excel, etc.).
